Out-door Trompe l’oeil Mural

The window you see on the left wall next to the ivy is hand painted, the ivy too. It’s a trompe l’oeil mural which is French and means it is tricking the eye. The owl sitting in front of the window is painted of course too. It is possible to do a whole facade with windows, doors and greenery. If you ahve an out-door facade which has no windows send an email and we we can change this – it is cheaper than to built in real windows.

The ink bottle is in a 3D mural I did for a hallway. The mural contains a shelf with a vase of colorful tulips, an ink bottle with quilt, a letter and a paper roll containing memories of my client.

Country Mural Trompe L’oeil

Trompe L’oeil mural in a hallway; featuring a shelf with a straw hat that hangs at the shelf. What does Trompe L’oeil mean?
It is French and means “Tricking the eye”. Such a mural has dimension and looks real. It can be a book shelf, a shelf with kitchen or garden items; a door or window, a street scene or anything else. Instances from Greek and Roman times are known, for instance in Pompeii. A typical trompe-l’Å“il mural might depict a window, door, or hallway, intended to suggest a larger room. If you like a real Trompe L’Oeil mural for your home send an email.

Lake Como Mural Brentwood

This mural is at the end of a long and small hallway, and adds depth and dimension to the hallway space. A Trompe L’Oeil mural is the best for small spaces. It creates additional space to small rooms or hallways.

Commercial Mural – a real Trompe L’Oeil

Courtroom Mural

This is the lobby of the company Personal Court Reporters in Van Nuys, greater Los Angeles.
Do you ask yourself if the connecting door to the old court room is real or not?
The old court room is after the court room of the “Whaley House”  in San Diego - the authentic haunted house of the USA.

Wine Cellar Door
Wine Cellar Door

This breath taking mural is in the basement of a private resicende in Granada Hills and is on the opposite side of the wine cellar.  The walls are faux finished and add a nice rustique look to the staircase which is leading down to the wine cellar.

Yes, it is painted!

What do you do when the bathroom is long and small as the one I did the mural for?
First a Faux Finish will add a warm touch to the whole room.  Then I painted a Niche Mural which was adding dimension and more brightness into the small bathroom. The stencil border makes the whole design complete.
