Moroccan Door Restoration

This door was kept outdoors on a wall in the backyard, and after all the years the paint chipped and the colors faded. I was asked to restore the door. It was done in several steps: First the sanding which was quite some job. Then using a primer, a base wash then the paint itself and as last step an out-door sealer. This can be done with any out-door furniture or door. Need an estimate? Send an email.

How to Change Garage Doors into a Beach

It’s not that difficult to transform garage doors into a beach mural. It was the dream of my client since 25 years to get the two garage doors done so she could look at a beach instead of a white wall from her bedroom. Finally she contacted me and within days the garage doors were turned into a beautiful beach landscape with palm trees, beach chairs and shells.

How to create beautiful Fire Doors

Iron wrought firedoor

Fire doors are usually ugly but are a must in commercially used buildings, right? I got hired by the company Personal Court Reporters in Van Nuys, near Los Angeles to create a Trompe L’Oeil for the fire doors and the entry. The wine cellar door I did some time ago was the actual reason why my client contacted me. He really liked this style of  the wrought iron door  in front of a wine cellar.

I found and adjusted a design for  thre fire doors, one in front of the elevator and the office entry door.

The background is a transparent greyish white, and creates the illusion of matte glass behind the iron doors.

One good thing is that the firedoors are made out of metal, so I just had to imitate the color of the handles.

These wrought iron doors bring life into the hallway and add some elegant touch to the whole floor.

Jungle Door Mural

Tropical Rainforest
Tropical Rainforest

I did this mural on a door which was the entracne to a store. The store sold reptile food and all kind of exotic animals.

As you can see the entrance is completely covered by the mural. Even the door handle is included; a scorpion sits on it.

Quite  a while after the mural was finished, there was a robbery nearby and several stores got broken into. Not the one whith the mural though. The robbers could not see the entrance!

That’s how a mural can get also some functional purpose. If you like a mural for your commercial space call 818 470 2932 for an estimate.
